Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed that some staff members in the current administration have started to switch their allegiance to the incoming government led by Bola Tinubu.
Shehu acknowledged that this is a natural human tendency, but noted that the way in which people are switching their allegiance is different from what happened during the previous administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
Shehu stated that Jonathan was patriotic and accepted defeat, which led to desertion by some of his supporters.
However, Shehu believes that the situation is different with President Buhari, as the villa has never been like the party headquarters for him in the last eight years.
Shehu also stated that the relationship between the outgoing and incoming presidents is cordial, and that Tinubu has the support of Buhari, who allowed him to win in a free and fair process.
