During Google’s keynote at the 2023 Google I/O event, the highly anticipated Google Pixel Fold was officially unveiled as a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Boasting a Tensor G2 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage, the Pixel Fold is also the thinnest foldable phone on the market at 12.1mm thick when folded and 5.8mm when unfolded.
It features a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5.8-inch FHD+ cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and an IPX8 rating for water resistance.
The Pixel Fold also has a triple-lens camera system, including a 48MP main camera, a 10.8MP telephoto snapper with 5x optical zoom, and a 10.8MP ultra-wide snapper, making it the best foldable camera system according to Google.
The battery is 4,821mAh, offering over 24 hours of life and up to 72 hours in Extreme Battery Saver mode, and it charges back up at 30W.
The software is built for foldables, with new features like dual-screen interpreter mode and tabletop mode.
The Pixel Fold is available for pre-order in the US and UK, starting at $1,799 / £1,749 (around AU$2,655), and ships next month. Pre-orders come with a free Pixel Watch.
