Gaise Baba has reached a new peak in Nigerian gospel music with his hit single No Turning Back II, which features Lawrence Iyor. The song has officially climbed to No. 4 on the TurnTable Top 100, making it the highest-charting gospel song in the country’s history.
NaijNaira learnt the track overtakes the previous peaks of other gospel hits, including “Favour” by Lawrence Iyor at No. 23 and “We Will Be Many” by Sounds of Salem featuring Lawrence Oyor and Moses Akoh Jr., which reached No. 26. All three tracks notably feature Lawrence Iyor, whose influence in gospel music has grown steadily in recent years.
The breakout success of No Turning Back II has been driven by its heartfelt lyrics, rhythmic fusion of gospel and modern sounds, and an outpouring of fan-driven content on TikTok. The platform has become a strong force in Nigeria’s music scene, especially for gospel acts tapping into younger audiences.
“No Turning Back II is a bold reinterpretation of the timeless hymn I Have Decided to Follow Jesus,” Gaise Baba shared. “It’s not just a song—it’s a movement that’s connecting people across generations.”
This new wave of attention confirms the rising commercial relevance of gospel music in Nigeria. Earlier in the year, Lawrence Iyor’s Favour was celebrated as one of the standout gospel singles. The success of No Turning Back II only deepens the genre’s growing appeal across digital platforms and traditional airwaves alike.
