Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has dismissed claims that the G5 Governors composed of Nyesom Wike from Rivers State, Seyi Makinde from Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu from Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, have struck any deal with All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential hopeful Bola Tinubu.
The G5 is a group of five aggrieved People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governors that have refused to back their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
However according to media reports, the group had reportedly reached some type of agreement with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In response to these reports, Governor Ortom stated that if the G5 Governors did reach an agreement they would be the ones to inform Nigeria.
“It’s not true. There is nothing like that. As experienced as we are, if we are doing anything, we will let the public know,” the Benue governor said while responding to an enquiry about the agreement to support Tinubu.
