Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has responded to a statement made by former governor Adams Oshiomhole regarding his potential impeachment.
Oshiomhole had suggested that if the opposition wins a majority in the state assembly election, Obaseki should not be afraid of impeachment if he had performed well as governor.
However, Obaseki’s special adviser on media project, Crusoe Osagie, said that Oshiomhole’s statement exposes his insidious plan to oust the current governor through impeachment.
Osagie is confident that Edo people will rise in defense of the governor and elect a House controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Furthermore, Osagie noted that the governor has placed his confidence in God and the people rather than any “godfather”.
It is also curious that it is Oshiomhole who has come forward with the agenda of the APC and not any of the candidates, which points to where instructions will be issued if the party’s candidates are mistakenly elected into the House.
