Governor of Nigeria’s Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, allegedly exposed a scheme by the Central Bank Governor (CBN), Goodwin Emefiele and a few associates to ‘ruin APC’s chances in the upcoming election’.
He made this accusation during an interview on BBC Hausa.
As protests have erupted in some parts of the country due to lack of circulation of physical cash, Ganduje asserts that if it is not resolved by next week following a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and state governors, then authorities must take steps to prevent any further crises.
Also speaking with newsmen after the meeting, Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasiru El-Rufai stated that CBN mopped up over N2trn from circulation but only printed about 300 billion Naira – not enough for two hundred million people looking for cash.
The Governor cautioned that this current issue could be detrimental to the nation.
