Do you want to leave a WhatsApp group without anyone noticing? There’s now a way to do just that!
The messaging app recently quietly introduced the ability to silently exit groups – no notifications required.
To do this, head into the settings of your device and make sure the “ExitGroupNotifications” option is switched on.
After that, leaving is simple: Android users just need to hold down the group they’d like to leave > tap the three-dot icon > select Exit; while iPhone users can swipe left on the group name > press More > click Exit.
Please note, however, that Admins will still be notified even when using this feature – so if you’re an admin, you won’t be able to take advantage of this trick in that particular group chat.
A savvy way of avoiding any drama or awkwardness perhaps!?
As for other tricks – WhatsApp also allows users to turn off read receipts so people can’t see when you’ve viewed their message (though keep in mind this means you won’t be able to see when they’ve read yours either).
To edit these settings simply open WhatsApp > go into Settings > Account > Privacy > and turn off ‘Read Receipts’.
