Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has announced that users of prepaid meters in the country need to upgrade their meters to avoid being blocked.
The upgrade process is free and will not affect the current unit charges loaded by users.
NERC has advised prepaid meter users to complete the upgrade before November 2024, or they will be unable to recharge their meters.
The upgrade involves the issuance of two free Key Change Tokens (KCTs) by the Distribution Companies (DisCos), which will update the meters.
The upgrade was for STS meters (meters with keypads on them) and will not impact the units in the meter or make the meter run faster.
Users can contact their DisCo for more information.
The upgrade is a global practice and helps keep up with global best practices, but it is not for any increase in tariffs.
The process is simple and harmless, and users do not need to panic.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company will be sending out messages to users next month to inform them about the upgrade.
