Birmingham City have completed the signing of Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel, who says his goal is simple—“I want to play in the Premier League,” NaijNaira can report.
The move, announced Friday via Birmingham’s official website, ends speculation linking the 26-year-old with Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Besiktas.
Besiktas had reportedly led the chase, but talks collapsed after disagreements over wages.
Osayi-Samuel agreed to a three-year contract that runs until the end of the 2027–28 season, marking a return to English football after nearly five years in Turkey.
He described the move as a decision driven by shared ambition with the club’s leadership.
“I spoke to the owner, I spoke to the manager, and it’s a project with ambitions,” Osayi-Samuel said.
“They did well last season getting promoted, and the ambition is not just to compete, but to get straight to the Premier League.”
The former QPR and Blackpool player has 109 Championship appearances, 11 goals, and 12 assists to his name.
Osayi-Samuel adds versatility to Birmingham’s squad, capable of playing as a full-back, wing-back, or winger.
While at Fenerbahce, he featured in UEFA Champions League qualifiers and both Europa and Conference League games.
His experience in top-level European football is expected to boost Birmingham’s push for Premier League promotion.
