Voter registration across Nigeria will begin on August 18, 2025, starting with online pre-registration before moving to physical enrollment a week later – www.naijnaira.com reports.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced this schedule via its official X handle, confirming that physical registration will commence on August 25 at all local government offices and approved centres.

Sahara Reporters reports the update, which also includes a weekday-only schedule from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

All eligible citizens who missed out during the Anambra State CVR will now have a chance to register nationwide.

The commission emphasized that registration is the first step in participating in the democratic process.

“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” INEC said in a message aimed at potential voters.

The same CVR exercise was recently concluded in Anambra ahead of its governorship election.

INEC also warned against underage and multiple registrations, urging citizens to follow all guidelines to avoid disqualification.

The commission’s voter portal—cvr.inecnigeria.org—will serve as the platform for the initial online sign-up before individuals are required to appear physically.
