Inter Milan have opened discussions with Nigeria midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro regarding a possible contract extension.
According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, Inter Milan have started negotiations with Akinsanmiro’s agent to discuss a potential renewal.
The talented midfielder joined Inter Milan from Nigerian side Remo Stars in January 2023 on a four-year contract. Since then, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has made just one senior appearance for the club, stepping in as a late substitute during Inter’s 4-0 victory over Lecce in February 2024.
Last season, Akinsanmiro spent time on loan at Sampdoria, playing regularly in Serie B. The Nigeria midfielder featured in 35 matches, scoring one goal and delivering an assist. His performances were a rare positive in a challenging season for Sampdoria, who were relegated to Italy’s third tier.
Inter Milan now appear keen to secure the future of Ebenezer Akinsanmiro. His current contract runs until 2026, but the club is pushing to extend it further as they look to invest in young talent.
One of the standout comments from the negotiations came from sources close to the talks: “The club sees potential in Ebenezer and believes he can contribute more in the coming seasons.”
Although Sampdoria had a difficult campaign, Akinsanmiro’s loan spell offered him valuable first-team experience. Given his growth and the limited time left on his contract, Inter Milan are moving quickly to finalise the agreement.
For now, Inter Milan contract talks with Ebenezer Akinsanmiro remain ongoing, and his future could see him playing a more active role in the club’s plans.
