Following coordinated attacks by the Islamist group Hamas, the Israeli military has intensified its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced a large-scale attack against Hamas-affiliated targets in the territory.
In response to a significant attack by Hamas militants, Israel has launched massive airstrikes, resulting in over 1,000 deaths on both sides, with civilians being the majority of those killed.
Israel has also amassed reserve troops and armoured vehicles on the border with Gaza, with a ground offensive planned for the future.
The IDF’s goal is to target Hamas in its network of tunnels and bunkers beneath the densely populated Gaza Strip.
