The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has recently announced the minimum cut-off marks for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2023 academic year.
According to JAMB, candidates seeking admission into universities must score a minimum of 140 points, while those seeking admission into polytechnics and colleges of education must score a minimum of 100 points.
However, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, clarified that these are just minimum scores and institutions are not obligated to comply with them.
The decision was made during the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, held at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja.
