Leeds United have ended their hunt for a new manager, appointing former Watford boss Javi Gracia to replace Jesse Marsch after his sacking on 6 February.
Gracia, 52, brings experience and success with him, having led teams such as Watford and Valencia both domestically and abroad in Qatar.
Leeds are 19th in the Premier League table but hope that their new appointment will help turn things around ahead of Saturday’s game against bottom side Southampton.
Gracia has signed a “flexible contract” with Leeds subject to obtaining the necessary work permissions.
Michael Skubala has been acting as interim manager since Marsch’s sacking, while Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, Ajax’ Alfred Schreuder and West Brom coach Carlos Corberan were all considered before Gracia was appointed.
