John Obi-Mikel Gives Hilarious Retirement Update, Chelsea Legends' Triumph

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

John Obi-Mikel, the former Super Falcons midfielder, had a comical response when questioned about his post-retirement activities from football.

The 36-year-old player made a special appearance for the Chelsea Legends match against Bayern Munich on September 9, showcasing a strong lineup.

In a game dedicated to honouring the late striker Gianluca Vialli, Chelsea Legends emerged victorious with a scoreline of 4-0.

Mikel, who was among the legends interviewed after the game, was asked about the club’s challenges since Todd Boehly took over.

He amusingly replied:

“They need to bring us back, I’m joking. They are fine, they will be fine. I think the club is obviously going through a massive transition. So we need to give them time. There are a lot of good, fantastic young players. We need to give them time, we need to make sure they get time to work on the training ground and start to gel together as a team.”

When questioned about his own endeavours since retiring from his football career, Mikel humorously responded, “Me? Just chilling drinking beers.”

Mikel’s association with Chelsea began in 2006 when he joined from Norwegian side Lyn.

He was an integral part of the club’s golden era, helping them secure two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, a League Cup, Champions League, and Europa League before departing for China in 2017.
