Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed he is unsure when star striker Darwin Nunez will return from his shoulder injury.
The 23-year-old limped off the pitch in the match against Newcastle United last week but was able to start in Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Real Madrid following a painkilling injection.
However, Nunez suffered a setback following the Madrid game, meaning he is a doubt for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips have also been ruled out due to muscle problems, while Diogo Jota made his first start since October despite still working on building up his match fitness after almost four months out with a calf issue.
Jota’s performance was praised by Klopp as he described it as ‘really, really good’, although he admitted there is still room for improvement.
