Ahead of Brighton’s match against Liverpool on the weekend, Jurgen Klopp provided an injury update for striker Darwin Nunez, revealing that if he does not train today then he will be ruled out.

Klopp mentioned it is not a major injury, but they are waiting for more information.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: ‘If he cannot train today then yet that would rule him out.

‘We are waiting for information it’s not a major one but it’s kept him out of training so we’ll have to wait for that.’

He also added Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino as long-term absentees who aren’t close to returning to team training.

To make up for the lack of options up front, Liverpool have recently signed Cody Gakpo, who made his debut in their last draw against Wolves.

Despite the depleted squad Klopp has been working with, he doesn’t seem to see more transfers taking place before the end of the January window.
