Katy Perry faced a technical hiccup during her Adelaide concert on the ‘Lifetimes Tour’ but kept going—and later confirmed her split from Orlando Bloom, NaijNaira can report.
The incident happened on June 29 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, during the Australian leg of her global tour. According to BBC, the pop star had just begun a stunt involving a suspended metal sphere when it tilted unexpectedly.
Footage shared by fans shows Perry briefly losing balance inside the sphere before grabbing onto its edges for support. The lighting dimmed, the sphere was lowered, and she returned to the stage without further issues.
“She handled it like a pro,” one concertgoer posted on X, praising her composure under pressure.
Shortly after the show, Perry and Bloom confirmed they’ve ended their relationship.
They shared a joint statement through their representatives, saying they’ve “been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family,” it added, “as their shared priority is— and always will be— raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
The two began dating in 2016, briefly broke up in 2017, and got engaged in 2019. Their daughter, Daisy, was born in 2020.
Perry’s recent year has been marked by backlash around her new album 143, criticism of her space-setlist reveal, and a rocky response to her single Woman’s World.
Despite controversies, Perry plans to begin the UK leg of her tour in October and will donate £1 from each ticket to Music Venue Trust to support small venues.
