Kelechi Iheanacho is back on the transfer market after Sevilla terminated his contract just one year into his deal – www.naijnaira.com reports.
Sky Sports UK revealed that Celtic have reopened discussions with the Nigerian forward and hope to reach an agreement this week.
The Scottish champions had previously attempted to sign him before the deadline but talks broke down.
Iheanacho is now available as a free agent, giving clubs the opportunity to sign him outside the window.
The striker only managed eleven appearances for Sevilla, with three goals coming in Copa del Rey fixtures.
He also spent part of last season on loan at Middlesbrough in the English Championship, scoring once and assisting twice across 15 games.
The 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner is remembered for his prolific spell at Leicester City under Brendan Rodgers.
During that period, he produced 68 goal contributions in 143 games, combining 43 goals with 25 assists.
A move to Celtic would reunite him with Rodgers, who is credited with getting the best out of him in England.
Despite his club future being in focus, Iheanacho was not included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
