Kwara Governor mourns as two personalities die within 24 hours

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is currently mourning after two important personalities in the state died within a space of one day.

Justice Sikiru Oyinloye, an High Court Judge died in the early hours of Sunday after battling with an undisclosed ailment.

While a senior lecturer of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Dr Ajeigbe Issa died in his sleep on Monday at his Ilorin residence.

In a condolence message, signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, described the death of Oyinloye as painful and a great loss to the state.

“We join the Kwara State Judiciary and the Nigerian bar to mourn the unfortunate death of Hon. Justice Oyinloye, a very upright and brilliant judge. We are consoled by the fact that he left a legacy of uprightness, hard work, and brilliance for which he was known within and outside of the court system.

“We pray Allah to grant him Al-jannah Firdaus and comfort the family that survived him”.

For the senior lecturer, prior to his death, he was the Head of Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education and the acting director of Sports at the KWASU .

The deceased lecturer has since been buried in Budo-Egba, Asa local government area of the state.
