The Lagos arm of the Peoples Democratic Party has removed several members after they dumped the party for the African Democratic Congress — www.naijnaira.com reports.

Segun Edwards, who represents the PDP Elders Caucus and chairs the 20 local government party chapters, confirmed this during a recent statement.

According to News, a joint meeting involving senior figures and local party leaders was held to review the fallout from the PDP’s recent NEC meeting in Abuja.

During the session, party elders agreed that those who openly joined forces with the ADC could no longer be trusted within the PDP.

Every individual who made public moves toward the ADC was immediately ousted following a unanimous vote by the stakeholders.

The decision to expel them wasn’t made lightly, as party elders emphasized that their actions crossed a clear line.

“These individuals have abandoned the values of the PDP,” one of the stakeholders declared during the meeting.

Local government chairmen were also instructed to ramp up preparations for internal congresses, including the upcoming national convention.

The expulsion signals a warning to other PDP members who may consider jumping ship as congress season approaches.
