The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refuted allegations of corruption leveled against their flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar.
Daniel Bwala, spokesman for the Atiku/Okowa campaign, clarified this during an interview on AriseTV earlier this week.
This comes after Michael Achimugu, claiming to be a former aide of Atiku’s, shared an audio recording alleging that the former vice-president accepted bribes in addition to claiming he had set up a ‘SPV’ – Special Purposed Vehicle – to receive money from illegal activities.
Bwala alleged that this was part of an attempt to sabotage Atiku’s presidential ambitions.
To back up his claims, he reminded viewers of Dino Melaye’s request for proof of Michael Achimugu’s supposed appointment letter – one which Achimugu never responded to or provided.
Bwala concluded by saying that some dubious persons are taking advantage of the fact that many young people have worked with Atiku in the past, leading to efforts made at sabotaging his ambition for presidency.
