Dean Saunders, a former Liverpool striker, has suggested that the club should pursue Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez.
With Nunez expected to leave for Saudi Arabia and both he and Diogo Jota underperforming, Liverpool is likely to search for a new forward in the summer.
According to CasinoReviews.net, Saunders believes Dembele could be an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity playing style.
Saunders emphasized Dembele’s work rate, which he thinks would mesh well with Liverpool’s aggressive, high-press system. “The striker of this hard-working Liverpool side is the first line of defense that chases down center-backs and goalkeepers, and they need to sign someone who is happy to put that kind of work in,” said Saunders. “Dembele is a class act and PSG don’t play too dissimilarly to Liverpool, so I think he would be a great fit.”
Despite Dembele’s excellent form, which includes 33 goals this season and occasional appearances as a central striker, his potential transfer presents significant challenges. PSG is reluctant to sell, and Dembele’s high market value could complicate a deal.
With Liverpool looking to make several changes to their squad this summer, investing a large sum in one position may prove difficult.
While a transfer for Dembele could be financially challenging, his ability to contribute both in goals and work rate could make him a strong fit for Klopp’s Liverpool squad.
Whether or not the move is feasible depends on several financial factors, but the idea of Dembele joining Liverpool is certainly intriguing.
