Arsenal had a brilliant night at the London Football Awards, with captain Martin Odegaard being named Premier League Player of The Year, Bukayo Saka receiving Young Player of The Year honours and manager Mikel Arteta taking home the Capital’s top manager award.
Odegaard was instrumental in helping his side achieve their highest league standing in 19 years, having contributed with 10 goals and 6 assists.
He beat out stiff competition from Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Brentford striker Ivan Toney, Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic and Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka to bag the big prize.
Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsdale was bestowed Goalkeeper of The Year honour and Arteta graciously thanked his players, staff and fans in his acceptance speech for manager’s prize.
Coming off a thumping 3-0 win over London rivals Fulham on Sunday, Arsenal are five points clear on top of the Premier League table and will be looking to carry the momentum going into their Europa League meeting against Sporting Lisbon midweek followed by a home fixture against Crystal Palace this weekend.
