There are indications that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde may not show up at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Presidential Campaign in Oyo, featuring PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar, today.
The National Assembly candidates of the party in the state have been confused as to whether they should attend or not and have yet to receive signals from the G-5 Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is expected to lead PDP governorship candidates from Lagos and Ogun States instead. Unlike when G-5 Governors visited Ibadan recently, the rally event at Mapo Hall has no welcoming decorations from Makinde’s administration.
This comes shortly after former governor Ayodele Fayose and some loyalists, particularly those contesting for senatorial and House of Representatives seats on the PDP tickets, shunned a campaign rally in Ekiti due to Atiku’s insistence that Iyorchia Ayu retains his position as national chairman of the PDP.
