Man Utd hail Luke Shaw as ‘world’s best defender’ after new £200k-a-week deal

Manchester United has secured the services of Luke Shaw for the foreseeable future, with the defender signing a new contract worth a reported £200,000-a-week.

Shaw, who joined United in 2014 for a then-record fee for a teenager, has become a key player for the club, making 249 appearances and helping them win the Carabao Cup this season.

United’s director of football, John Murtough, hailed Shaw as “one of the best defenders in the world” and praised his leadership qualities.
