Former Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham has advised the club to pursue Napoli’s Victor Osimhen instead of Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.
United manager Erik ten Hag is in search of a center-forward for the upcoming transfer window, with Hojlund being the preferred choice.
However, negotiations for Hojlund’s release clause have hit a roadblock, with Atalanta demanding £86 million, a price that United is not willing to exceed £60 million.
Sheringham believes that United should shift their focus away from Hojlund and instead target Osimhen, who finished as the top scorer in Italy last season with 26 goals in 32 games.
Sheringham also mentioned that Tottenham’s Harry Kane would be the “ideal solution,” but a move for him is unlikely due to the high transfer fee and reluctance to sell to a Premier League rival.
