Manchester United have secured the signing of 16-year-old left-back Harry Amass from Watford.

Amass, who has already made his England under-15 debut and is now part of the under-16 squad, has agreed to a long-term contract with United for four years.

Watford will receive a compensation fee for the transfer, which is currently being negotiated between the two clubs.

Amass was a scholar with Watford and was involved with their first team last season, even being named as an unused substitute for the FA Cup third-round tie with Reading at just 15 years old.

He regularly featured for Watford’s under-18 and under-21 sides, impressing in matches against Everton and Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup.

Amass was considered one of Watford’s brightest prospects, but they have lost another promising young player, Adrian Blake, who rejected a professional deal and signed with Dutch side FC Utrecht earlier in the transfer window.
