Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly set to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the race for David Raya this summer.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has 18 months left on his contract with Brentford and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Spurs have been closely linked with Raya since earlier this month as they prepare to sign a long-term successor for Hugo Lloris, but both Chelsea and United are now ready to enter into a bidding war for the Spanish international.

If a move does go ahead, it could cost anywhere from £15million (€17.1m) to £20million (€22.8m).

Should either club activate their interest for Raya, it could depend on if one of them is able to reach Champions League qualification–which would significantly increase their spending power–or not.

Last season Jürgen Klopp praised Raya, saying he “should have a No 10 on his back” due to his ability with pinpoint accurate distributions.

In an exclusive interview earlier this season, Raya spoke about how he was trying to perfect the skill of coming out from the back with confidence and cold-bloodedness.
