Kylian Mbappé continued his impressive form with a hat-trick in Real Madrid‘s 3-0 win over Valladolid on Saturday, extending their lead at the top of La Liga to four points.
The victory came after second-place Atlético Madrid drew 1-1 against Villarreal, while third-place Barcelona, 10 points behind Madrid, was set to play Valencia on Sunday.
Mbappé’s recent surge in form comes after a period of inconsistency following his summer move from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French forward now has 15 league goals for the season, just one behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski.
Mbappé’s first goal came in the 30th minute, curling a shot into the top corner after a pass from Jude Bellingham.
His second came in the 57th minute, finishing coolly past goalkeeper Karl Hein after a pass from Rodrygo.
In the final stages, Mbappé completed his hat-trick with a penalty after Valladolid’s Mario Martin fouled Bellingham in the box, leading to a red card for the midfielder.
Mbappé’s penalty, his 12th goal in his last 11 games, capped off another stellar performance.
