Reports have come to light that Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge, is in Riyadh to hold talks with Al-Hilal over the possibility of his son joining the Saudi club.

If accepted, the deal would see Messi become the world’s highest-paid footballer on a startling £245m-a-year salary.

This move could mean a reunion between him and his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo who had recently joined Al-Nassr and would be receiving just £175m-a-year.
