A pair of Michael Jordan’s game-worn sneakers from the 1998 NBA Finals sold for a record-breaking $2.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction.

These Air Jordan 13 “Breds” were worn by Jordan during the second game of the Finals, which was part of his final season with the Chicago Bulls, known as the “Last Dance”.

Jordan scored 37 points in the game and led the Bulls to a 93-88 win over the Utah Jazz.

After the game, Jordan gifted the sneakers to a Jazz ball boy as a thank you for finding his lost jacket.

These sneakers are the only complete pair worn by Jordan in an NBA Finals game that have been authenticated by the MeiGray Group, the official authenticator of the NBA.

The previous record for the most expensive sneakers sold was held by a pair of Kanye West’s Nike Air Yeezy 1s, which sold for $1.8 million in 2021.
