Microsoft is stepping up efforts to fix speed problems in Windows 11, and it’s doing that by pulling more detailed feedback from users running test builds, NaijNaira can report.
According to a recent update spotted by Windows Latest, testers in the Dev channel are now encouraged to report any sluggish behavior on their devices, with the Feedback Hub set to collect new performance logs.
Microsoft shared, “As part of our commitment to improving Windows performance, logs are now collected when your PC has experienced any slow or sluggish performance.”
The company says these logs will stay on the system drive and will only be uploaded if users actively submit feedback.
This move targets well-known issues such as laggy File Explorer performance and slow system response times, which many users—especially those on older devices—have long complained about.
Microsoft hopes the larger volume of data will help it pinpoint root causes faster and roll out more effective fixes.
The initiative is limited to preview versions of Windows 11, meaning regular users of the stable OS build aren’t affected by this log collection.
Participation remains voluntary, and no logs leave the system unless feedback is manually submitted by the tester.
