Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update regarding Thomas Partey ahead of Arsenal’s match against Everton.
The 29-year-old Ghana international was out with a muscle injury but returned to the matchday squad for the 1-0 win against Leicester City at the weekend, coming off the bench in the 84th minute to start regaining his match fitness.
Arteta stated that Partey had only had one training session, but will have another today as he looks to build up his fitness after missing games against Fulham, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
With Europa League action quickly approaching, Arteta is conscious of not wanting to risk the midfielder which might see him start on the substitutes bench on Wednesday night once again.
Additionally, Gabriel Jesus is expected back in the squad before the international break with a knee injury sustained previously while on international duty at the World Cup.
