Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, confirmed in an interview with SportmediaSet that Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to leave the club.

Speaking ahead of Napoli’s Coppa Italia match against Modena, Manna revealed that the Nigerian striker is eager for a new challenge, though the club has yet to receive any substantial offers for him.

Osimhen was left out of the squad for the Modena game by manager Antonio Conte and is reportedly keen to move on from Napoli.

Despite his intentions, there has been a surprising lack of interest from potential suitors.

Chelsea, who had previously shown interest, withdrew from the race after signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain remains the only serious contender, especially after Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid, but the French giants are hesitant to meet Osimhen’s €130 million release clause.

Although several Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest, Osimhen is determined to stay in Europe.

Manna emphasized that while Osimhen wants to leave, Napoli is in no rush to disrupt the team’s cohesion. “We are calm because we have players in the squad who can replace him in the best way,” Manna said.

However, they are also looking to raise funds to potentially sign Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku as a replacement.
