Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to answer questions regarding the Nigeria Air Scandal.
The scandal has caused controversy in the country after the recent launch of the airline in Abuja, which was garbed in Ethiopian colours.
EFCC has already questioned officials of Nigerian Air and is now calling on Sirika to appear before the commission within the week.
The project reportedly cost over N3 billion, but some stakeholders claim that over N80 billion was expended on it.
Sirika’s appearance on Arise TV, where he claimed that the use of an Ethiopian aircraft was a “Marketing Strategy,” has caused further controversy and calls for his immediate arrest and prosecution.
The EFCC has confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
