Zac Shuaib, a teenage midfielder eligible for Nigeria, England, Spain, and India, has agreed to join Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad after parting ways with Arsenal, NaijNaira can report. The 18-year-old is expected to link up with Sociedad’s C team, competing in the Tercera Federación – Group 4 next season.

According to BBC Sport, Shuaib made the decision after a successful trial period, which included a standout performance during the MIC Football tournament in Girona.

Born to a Gipuzkoan mother, Shuaib has long-standing roots in the Basque region and spent several childhood summers in Hondarribia.

ā€œJoining Real Sociedad is a dream move for me,ā€ Shuaib reportedly said after receiving the offer.

He appeared five times in the U18 Premier League last season despite recovering from a serious injury.

Before settling on Real Sociedad, he trialed with Brighton & Hove Albion and attracted attention from multiple clubs.

Shuaib started his football journey at age seven with Chiswick Youth and later played for Hanwell FC, Focus Football, London Colney Colts, and Tottenham.

In 2022, he joined Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, where he developed until his contract expired this June.

Now, he’s preparing for a fresh chapter in Spain’s competitive football scene.
