Nigeria's first FCT minister, Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun Dies

Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, Nigeria’s first Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, has passed away at the age of 96.

He was appointed as the FCT minister by the General Muritala Mohammed military government and played a key role in the development of Abuja.

Prior to his appointment, Ajose-Adeogun had served as a Federal Commissioner for Cooperatives and Supply.

He also had a successful career at Shell Petroleum Development Company and in the manufacturing and real estate sectors.

His death was confirmed by a family member, Oluremi Ajose-Adeogun.
