The Guardian Nigeria reported that the awards were presented on Friday during the graduation ceremony, which drew senior military officers and dignitaries from across Africa.

Kafayat Sanni first made history in 2019 when she became the first female fighter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force after completing her pilot training in the United States.

Since then, she has flown the Alpha Jet and led training flights on the Super Mushshak as an experienced instructor pilot.

Sanni has also played an important role in mentoring young pilots and supporting their growth within the Nigerian Air Force.

GAFCSC officials praised her performance, calling it “exceptional and worthy of emulation.”
