Pep Guardiola, manager of reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, has claimed that up to nine clubs had written to the League demanding them to be banned.
The Spaniard made this statement when questioned about Chelsea’s immense spending spree in the January transfer window.

In response to what would happen if City spent the same amount, he replied by saying that due to regulations there were eight or nine teams that tried to “get us banned”. He further added that City is currently fifth in terms of net spend.
