Chiamaka Nnadozie has opened up about her departure from Paris FC, calling it a tough but necessary step as she gets ready to join Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League, NaijNaira can report.
The former Paris FC goalkeeper, as reported by Goal.com, spent five seasons with the French side, racking up 118 appearances and lifting the Coupe de France Féminine in her final campaign.
“Paris is like my second home,” she said after the Super Falcons’ recent win over Tunisia. “I spent five seasons there and they welcomed me so well.”
Nnadozie’s performances in France earned her a solid reputation across Europe and helped Paris FC qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Despite her attachment to the club and its fans, the Nigerian international felt it was time to embrace a new chapter.
“I feel like one of them but it’s time to move on,” she added. “I found a new home and hopefully it’s going to be a better home.”
While she hasn’t landed in England yet, she says the response from Nigerian fans in Brighton has already been huge.
“Nigerians are plenty in United Kingdom so it’s going to be a good one,” she said with a smile.
