Juventus is finalizing a move for Canadian striker Jonathan David in what could be a decisive blow to Victor Osimhen’s chances of joining the Turin club, NaijNaira can report.

The Serie A side has turned its focus from Osimhen to David, who recently left Lille as a free agent.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that Juventus are “very close” to sealing the deal for the 25-year-old forward.

David brings a strong record, scoring 37 goals and adding 15 assists in 83 games for Lille across three standout seasons.

With no transfer fee involved, Juventus sees David as a cost-effective addition to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to exit this summer.

The shift in transfer priority could have a direct effect on Osimhen, who has been on Juventus’ radar for months.

The Super Eagles striker recently completed a loan at Galatasaray, where he delivered 37 goals and eight assists.

Despite links to Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal, firm bids have not materialized.

Chelsea has already opted for Liam Delap, closing one door for the Nigerian international.

If Juventus completes the David transfer, Osimhen will likely have to remain at Napoli or pursue another loan deal.

“Jonathan David is top quality and Juventus sees him as the right fit,” Romano said.

That move, while good for Juve, puts Osimhen’s next step further in question.
