Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka, the Lagos chairperson of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and some other members of the party’s state executive committee recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was made known by Gbenga Ogunleye, spokesperson for Abdulazeez ‘Jandor’ Adediran, PDP governorship candidate for 25 February.
Dabiraoluwa cited the leadership qualities of Mr Adediran and his running mate, Funke Akindele, as reasons for their move.
When receiving the defectors into his campaign office, Mr Adediran appointed Ms Adeyinka as one of his spokespersons.
Philip Aivoji, PDP Lagos chairperson, presented a flag to the group and stated that no discrimination will be experienced once they join the party.
He reassured them that they would enjoy all rights and privileges that come with being a bonafide member of PDP.
