Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Nigeria, has assured the public that he is a law-abiding citizen and would never intentionally violate any law.
This statement comes after his recent detention by the United Kingdom (UK) Immigration authorities.
Obi made this known while speaking at the LP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Asaba, Delta State on Tuesday.
He emphasized that he was not intimidated by the falsehoods and propaganda being spread against him.
He further reiterated that he has always lived his life in the most law-abiding manner possible and that he would never knowingly break any law.
The LP presidential candidate stated, “Sometimes, as humans, we make mistakes, but I will never knowingly break any law. I am, therefore, not afraid of the lies and propaganda against my person, which are part of the journey to a New Nigeria.”
Obi urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and composed in their efforts to reclaim their mandate, adding that he remained undaunted by any obstacles in his quest to bring about a new Nigeria.
Recall that Obi was detained by UK immigration authorities earlier this month.
He had visited the country to attend an event organized by the Cambridge Union Society.
