President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has been received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India at the ongoing G-20 summit.
Tinubu, who is on an official visit to India, arrived in New Delhi, the nation’s capital, on Tuesday, September 5.
This year’s G-20 summit, the 18th meeting of world leaders, is the first to be hosted by a South Asian nation, marking a significant milestone for India.
The visit is believed to strengthen ties between Nigeria and India, and Tinubu has several high-level meetings scheduled with prospective investors.
He will also have the opportunity to engage with other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, who is present at the event.
The 2023 G-20 summit is taking place at the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, in New Delhi.
It is the first G20 summit held in India and South Asia, showcasing the country’s growing prominence on the global stage.
This year’s G-20 summit has set six agenda priorities for the G20 dialogue in 2023. These include Green Development, Climate Finance and Life Accelerated, Inclusive and Resilient Growth, Accelerating SDG Progress, Technological Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure, and Multilateral Institutions for the 21st century.
