President Tinubu has announced new appointments for Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) at 11 federal medical centers.
The appointments were approved by the federal government and will be for a four-year term.
The newly-appointed CMDs received their appointment letters from the Ministry of Health’s permanent secretary, Kachollom Daju.
In her address, Daju congratulated the appointees and emphasized the importance of working with health workers and stakeholders as a team.
She also urged the new CMDs to prioritize creating a conducive work environment and infrastructure to ensure a high standard of healthcare.

- Issa Baba Awoye, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Buddo-Egba, Kwara
- Umar Faruk Abdumajid, Federal Medical Centre, Daura, Katsina state
- Muhammad Shittu Adamu, Federal Medical Centre, Wase, Plateau state
- Shuaibu Jauro Yahya, Federal Medical Centre Mubi, Adamawa state
- Mercy Anugwu, Federal Medical Centre Onitsha, Anambra state
- Auwalu Sani Salihu, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Dawanau Kano state
- Rufai Ahmed, Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria Mangwa J. Kortar, Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue state
