Rema Makes History as the First African Artiste to Perform at Ballon d'Or Ceremony

Rema, a popular Nigerian afrobeats star, has made history by becoming the first African artist to perform at the prestigious Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The 23-year-old singer took the stage at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France, on Monday night.

Rema wowed the audience with his performance of his hit song, ‘Calm Down.’

The organizers of the award shared a clip of his electrifying performance on their official social media account, captioning it, “Calm Down! @heisrema takes on the stage of the Ballon d’Or!”

Rema’s success extends beyond this historic performance, as his latest EP, Ravage, debuted on the charts in over 50 countries just hours after its release on October 26, 2023.
