The exclusion of Rabiu Kwankwaso from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministerial list has been revealed to be due to the frequent attacks on former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
According to Bala Ibrahim, the spokesperson for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the ongoing feud between Governor Abba Yusuf and his predecessor Ganduje played a role in Tinubu’s decision.
The Kwankwasiyya movement, led by Kwankwaso, has been criticized for its conduct and the political instability it has brought to Kano and Nigeria as a whole.
On the other hand, Tinubu recognized the political maturity and experience of Ganduje in playing politics in Kano.
The response from Kwankwaso’s camp was that they did not believe Ibrahim deserved a response, as Kwankwaso had already made his decision to opt out.
They also stated that Ganduje’s actions were his own business and not their concern.
