As Bola Tinubu prepares to take office as the new Nigerian President, there is speculation about which of President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointees he may choose to retain.
Tinubu has made alliances with both APC members and non-APC members in his journey to the presidency, and it is likely that he will work with some of Buhari’s cabinet members.
Among those who may be retained are Babatunde Fashola, who has a history of working with Tinubu and supported his campaign, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who has remained loyal to Tinubu and is a prominent member of Buhari’s cabinet, Festus Keyamo, a vocal supporter of Tinubu and the APC presidential campaign council, Bashir Ahmad, a young politician who has been vocal in supporting the APC, and Adeleke Olorunibe Mamora, a former senator and current minister who is well known in Lagos and the ACN.
While allegiances have shifted and loyalties have been tested in the political landscape of Nigeria, it remains to be seen which of Buhari’s appointees will continue to serve under the new administration.
