Former Brazilian footballer Rivaldo has expressed concern that Cristiano Ronaldo may have been misled when he signed a lucrative deal with Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr.
The 38-year-old joined the team in January after his contract with Manchester United was terminated.
His £173 million-a-year contract makes him the highest-paid footballer in the world and spans two-and-a-half years.
However, Rivaldo believes that the high wages offered in the Middle East can mask the challenges of playing in the league and living in the region.
He suggested that Ronaldo may be experiencing disappointment and reflection, and that it would be good for him and for football if he returned to Real Madrid to finish his career. Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in 16 matches for Al-Nassr.
